Tonight Peter and I went to see what may very well be our last ever Twins game at the Metrodome. As those of you in the Twin Cities probably know, the Twins will be playing in the brand new Target Field come next summer. We got to see a fantastic game and spend a whole 5 hours baby free! (Thanks to Grandma Debbie and Grandpa Chris for watching Alethea.)
While we’re excited about outdoor baseball coming to Minnesota next summer, it is a little sad to see the dome go since Peter and I have had lots of fun dating memories there. At a time like this, I feel it’s only fitting to say, “Goodbye Metrodome with your horrible acoustics and bad seating layout. Thanks for the memories.”
Memories … like the time you had beer poured on your head?
Yeah, I’ll miss the Dome, not because it’s a great park, but because of the memories. If you’re a fan of baseball and under 30, then the Dome is where you watch MLB baseball. And two Wold Series wins, that makes a place special, even if it is an disgraceful indoor monstrosity and an afront to all human decency.
Sorry. I was channeling Grandma for a moment. :)
I know how you feel. The Spectrum in Philly will be torn down the end of the month.I .took my kids to so many events there. Circus. ice capades. Disney on ice.Sesame Street, the last tjme I was there was last year with two of my grans for the circus and Elmo. Cann’t wait to see you and the baby. I have my camera ready.
